Origin

Transport Friendly Society (TFS) started in 1885 as a Mutual Society providing peace of mind to bus drivers. Since then, TFS has been a Mutual Society for over 130 years and this is our mission for many years to come.

Our Members

In 2019, we had nearly 23,000 members and held assets worth in excess of £74 million. 

For our members

As TFS is a Mutual Society, we have zero shareholders that we pay dividends to and instead, the Society’s profits are used to enhance our products and services to our members.

All of our members’ plan benefits are Tax-Free and paid straight into their bank accounts.

In 2019, we paid 99% of our members’ claims and paid out £2.4 million in benefits!
