TFS Sickness Benefit Plan

We offer a straightforward Sickness Benefit Plan that pays employees tax-free weekly benefits of up to £175 if they are off work sick for over a week. Considering the Statutory Sick Pay is often not sufficient to support people unable to work (including all COVID-related sickness), falling sick could significantly affect one’s finances and mental state. As we assist them financially, employees can focus on getting better and back to work sooner.

We offer weekly benefits of £70, £105 and £140 as well.

Monthly premiums start from as little as £3.47 per policy for our 5-week cover (we also offer 12-week and 25-week cover). You have control over the level of cover you would like to offer your employees – you simply choose the amount of weekly benefit and the length of cover. Employees can individually upgrade or top up their cover at their own cost if they wish.


If you are to take out a 5-week cover with a £175 weekly benefit,

the monthly premiums start at £16.47 per individual

Our Sickness Benefit Plan does not encourage employees to take sick leave but aims to provide them with additional short-term financial support when they need it most. Benefits are only payable from the 8th day of sickness, while the amount payable is decided by you, and it will not exceed 75% of the employee’s normal earnings

Additional Free Membership Benefits

With every plan you take out, employees will have the added bonus of receiving discretionary benefits after 1 year’s membership, making them eligible to claim money back on their Dental, Optical and Osteopathy expenses.


TFS Hospitalisation Plan

When you take out a Corporate Membership to provide sickness benefit cover for your employees, you also have the option of adding Hospitalisation Cover. Monthly premiums start at just £1.13 and we will pay out a daily benefit to individuals who are unfortunate enough to have to stay in hospital overnight.

Additional benefit for taking out a Corporate Membership with TFS

When it comes to managing their policies, employees handle these mostly – such as completing their application and claim forms online, so that there is not much additional admin work for the employer.

However, the employer would be responsible for its employees’ premium payments. This could be done as a single monthly payment for the Group cover along with a list of employees which would include starters, leavers etc.

If your employees decide to upgrade their policy at their own expense, we would inform you and would ask that you deduct the additional premium from their weekly/monthly pay and include them in the list and the payment you make to us.

As a way to say thank you and to cover the cost of collecting and processing premiums, you will be receiving 2% cash-back on all premiums collected

We will pay tax-free sickness benefit to your employees after day 7 of their sickness. You decide the level of cover you would like to offer

After 12 months contributions have been paid, your employee becomes eligible for Discretionary Benefits. In essence, we provide financial assistance towards dental, optical and osteopathic treatment.  After the employee has had treatment and paid the bill, they send the receipt to TFS and we will reimburse part of the cost. The limits are as follows:

• Dental treatment – 50% of the cost of treatment up to a maximum of £75 per year.

• Optical treatment (including sight test) – 50% of the cost of treatment up to a maximum of £75 every two years.

• Osteopathic treatment – 100% of the cost of treatment up to a maximum of £150 per year
