When it comes to our health, no one knows what’s around the corner. Unfortunately, visits for essential healthcare can often mean sudden large financial expenses. So, having a Health Cash Plan could be reassuring as it could help you budget and pay towards your everyday healthcare costs, as well as those unexpected medical expenses that unfortunately can arise.
What is a Health Cash Plan?
This is a policy that lets you claim cash back on a wide range of health costs. These would normally include dental, optical and therapy treatments expenses. This is usually a percentage reimbursement or in some cases, 100% of the cost, up to a specific maximum benefit allowance per year.

How does a Health Cash Plan work?
-
Attend your appointment and pay for your treatment
To claim cash back, you would need to supply any relevant documents (receipts, invoices, etc.) to your policy provider. Therefore, it is important to keep hold of these after you have had and paid for your treatment.
-
Submit your completed claim form and receipts
You would have to complete and submit a claim form either online or by post. This it to provide your personal and bank account details, in relation to your claim.
-
Your claim will be reviewed and paid directly into your bank account
Your benefit is normally paid directly into your bank account once your claim is approved. How much you will get back would depend on the terms and conditions of your plan.

Who would benefit from a Health Cash Plan?
If you are someone, who takes their health seriously, then you probably attend regular healthcare appointments. Often, these may result in large financial expenses, if not covered by the NHS. In that case, you might find that this is beneficial for you, as it would cover some of that cost.
In addition, having such a policy could even have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing. You might be more likely to get regular health checks, knowing you will be financially supported, and it won’t cause a strain on your budget.
